New Record, TXT Topped the Album Chart for 8 Consecutive Weeks on Oricon


South Korea – 4th generation K-pop boy group TOMORROW X TOGETHER or TXT has written a new record on Japan’s Oricon chart with their 2nd Japanese regular album SWEET.

With this latest achievement, TXT became the first foreign artist to top the weekly album chart with 8 albums in a row. So how is the information? Come on, take a peek in full.

Launched from Newses on July 11, 2023, according to the latest chart released by Oricon on the 11th (as of July 17 / July 3-9 counting period), TXT’s 2nd full-length Japanese album titled SWEET has sold 303,000 copies and reached the album ranking 1st week.

Oricon said in an article posted on the official website that TXT is the first foreign artist to top the weekly album chart with 8 albums in a row.

With their 5th mini album titled The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION in January 2023, TOMORROW X TOGETHER became the first foreign artist to top the weekly album chart with 7 albums in a row and now TXT is breaking their own record in this category.

Group Hive Labels, including TXT swept the record for the number of works in a row winning first place on the Oricon weekly album chart of foreign artists.

In second place are global supergroups BTS and ENHYPEN, which took first place with six albums in a row. In 4th place is the group SEVENTEEN which is in first place with 5 albums in a row.

Separately, TXT also broke the record for the most album sales in Japan in the first week of its release with the album Sweet.
